The reason why it became a junk car was because its head gasket failed, and the issue was not caught in time. When the head gasket stopped working properly, its radiator fluid started leaking into the engine oil. As a result, the oil turned into sludge. Ultimately the engine seized up and would no longer run. Fixing the engine would have cost more than the old car was worth, so the owner made the smart choice and decided to get paid cash to have Joe tow it away.
